It’s always fun to stay local, so photographing a wedding in Salem this past September was awesome. When Maarit and I first met Kristin and Chris last year we were all talking about weddings and planning and details and Etsy and all that good wedding stuff. And to think that now our weddings have come and gone, unbelievable!
Kristin and Chris were married at the St. James Parish in Salem, MA by Rev. John Sheridan. They had a really nice Roman Catholic mass (one of the best I have experienced in a while) and the church is really beautiful. Their reception followed the ceremony a little further down the street on the Salem Common at the Nathaniel Silsbee House. The house is owned by the Knights of Columbus and we got a kick out of the whole “K of C” thing since Kristin and Chris were K and C. Okay, so that’s a bit dorky….but we had a few laughs when we thought about it!
Some of the things Maarit and I dug was the scrap booking idea. It was a fun artsy thing for guests to play around with and it’s going to be a nice keepsake with all the photos and sweet messages from their guests. And doing the sundaes versus the cake was sweet, who doesn’t like Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream!?!
Kristin’s dress was scored via the famous Running of The Brides at Filene’s Basement. The designer was Essense of Australia and it was fabulous, but not easily claimed. Kristin and her friends were on a mission to find this particular dress during the Running of the Brides, but then they spotted someone else was trying it on! Luckily it eventually ended up in Kristin’s hands….and the rest is history….happily ever after!

Murat - - wow, how gorgeous, ieeirtstnng, and raw. i love that you see with your own eyes so clearly, know what you want to create and share. i really like how different and moody and almost emotional these images are. very cool.
Ziya - - elaine, this is such a stinnung image, it makes me well up with emotion. just beautiful, and with so much soul. how did you do this? this is almost confirmation enough that there is good beyond those clouds. you are so talented. again, this elegance you capture in the simplest things.
